Bhutan welcomes visitors from around the world to experience its unique culture, pristine environment, and rich spiritual heritage. To preserve the Kingdom’s natural beauty and cultural traditions, Bhutan follows a sustainable tourism policy based on the principle of “High Value, Low Volume” tourism.

Visa

 All foreign nationals except those from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives must obtain a visa before arrival

All visitors from India require either a valid Indian passport or a Voter ID card to obtain an entry permit.

For Indian nationals under the age of 18, a passport or a birth certificate can be used to enter and they must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Nationals from Switzerland and Thailand holding diplomatic or government-official passports are eligible for a visa at their port of entry.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date.

Visa application can take up to five days to process.

Visa Fee: A non-refundable, one-off fee of USD 40 for all nationalities except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian citizens.

 Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)

 International Visitors: USD 100 per person, per night

 Children (6–12 years): USD 50 per night.

 Children (Under 6): Exempt from the SDF.

Indian Nationals: INR 1,200 per person, per night.

Children (6–12 years): USD 600 per night.
